It is time...let's help make a change

It is time to start teaching tolerance. We all need this lesson. Learning how to deal with others that are different from you either racially, intellectually, religiously, whatever.... is so crucial in society today. Hate crimes must stop. It goes beyond just kids bullying one another just because one looks or acts different from them in any way.

This is a great overview article from KidsHealth (a great site by the way). Just in case you weren't even 100% sure what tolerance means, here is a quick definition:

"Tolerance refers to an attitude of openness and respect for the differences that exist among people."

It is high time that we teach our kids how to deal with others...so that someday they don't bring a gun to school and obliterate an entire classroom. Don't think your kid couldn't do it. I am sure the mothers of all these children would have swore that their child would never do something like this, yet they did.
